XOR Media Selects Matrox DSX LE3 SDI Card to Power MediaServer G

New video playout and branding server is ideal for television broadcast, content production, live entertainment and sports applications

Montreal — April 2, 2014 — Matrox® Video today announced that video equipment manufacturer, XOR Media has exclusively chosen the Matrox DSX LE3 multi-channel SDI card, one of the Matrox DSX™ Developer Products, as the I/O and mixing engine for its new MediaServer G broadcast video server.
MediaServer G (MSV-G) is a HD/SD switchable play-to-air video server that internally delivers video playback as well as rich branding graphics. The system features 2D/3D design and play-out that provides tickers, subtitles, crawls, full scene anti-aliasing, scoreboards and credits. MSV-G also supports importing files from Maya, 3ds Max and LightWave. The server can be controlled internally as a standalone system or by external broadcast automation systems. Master control operators can also preview an image prior to performing a transition.

“Our customers use our media servers around the clock,” said Ralph Beck, CEO of XOR Media US. “Our decision to standardize on Matrox ensures the reliability, prompt support and lower overall cost of ownership that are critical in these demanding environments.”

“XOR Media’s powerful new video server line takes full advantage of the I/O flexibility of the DSX LE3 series of SDI cards along with its support for the full array of industry-standard codecs that Matrox is known for,” said Alberto Cieri, Matrox senior director of sales and marketing. “The cards’ built-in support for 4K QFHD adds even more potential versatility.”

At the 2014 NAB Show (Las Vegas, April 7-10) Matrox products will be demonstrated in booth SL5019. XOR Media products will be demonstrated in booth SL9721.
